caramel and charcoal

cardigan - (burda 10/2014, #113)
dress - (burda 4/2013, #109,
modified using pattern magic musubu dress diagram)

this cardigan is probably the cosiest thing i ever made
it's soft and warm and feels like wearing a blanket
(maybe even a security blanket of some sort)..
i'm always moody and cranky when fall is in full swing
all i wanna do is cover myself with mountain of blankets
and spend my days reading books..
and live off of roasted chestnuts and pumpkin cakes
..
of course, i can't really do that
as i barely see my home these days,
but at least now i can wear my blanket everywhere i go
without looking like linus van pelt
..

  1. Ahhh this is so cozy I could die/cry. What kind of crazy knit is that? I can never find nice sweater knits...

    1. i've never seen this kind of knits before, but this year i've seen dozens of cool sweater knits, dunno what's up with that, but i'll sure take advantage of the situation :) have already bought few more knits.. this particular one is 64%wool and 36%poliester (and can be machine washed, how fabulous is that?)

  3. The cardigan looks so cosy indeed - and the dress super stylish - very nice outfit although I think that cardigan would work really great with a pair of jeans too :)

  5. What a delicious sweater knit!! I have a poncho that I drag out every fall for this exact same reason. It's like having my own little security blanket, without the 'Linus' associations! That dress is just.... sigh. The best.

  6. So that's what you used a a basis for that beautiful pattern magic dress! I've been thinking about sewing it too and was looking for a suitable dress to alter. Great job on your projects! The cardigan really looks comfy and warm.
I could spend the Autumn under the blankets eating pierogi all day, I guess it's the shock from the change of temperature and lack of sun, then I get used to it somehow and Winter is not that terrible. I like snow! *^o^*

    1. that's the one :) i chose it because it had that shoulder cut that i loved, slightly sporty narrow one..
now i have to make pierogi! just googled them, to see what they are exactly (we have something called 'piroske', but it's made with cheese), and i think i would love them! think i'll go for sauerkraut version

  7. That looks great. I like the combo of the very chunky knit with the drapey cardigan pattern. The Pattern Magic dress is lovely too!
