going bananas

dress - self made
heels - peacocks

this is my birthday party dress
..
for months i knew exactly
how i wanted my birthday party dress to look like:
bright red one
with low cut drape back
and pencil skirt
..
then i failed to find the right red fabric
..
so
if you wonder why i look like a flight attendant
here is your answer
..
if you wonder what my brooch is
it's half peeled banana
..
if you wonder was i drunk
while sewing the dress
and therefore screwed up the print matching
and used so wrongly colored zipper
answer is: no.
i was creative

  3. So pretty! It looks so demure from the front, but then the back is so daring! I've been neglecting sewing because I've been teaching myself to spin wool, but seeing your projects always inspires me. Too many crafts not enough time! D:

  11. I think you did a great job with the dress. The imperfections are not easily noticeable. Plus it just gives it more character:) Love the print too.

  12. the zipper is PERFECT. have you partied in this yet?

  13. yup, sister oona, these are after party photos :) you know me, i always do things at the last moment (dress was finished some 45 minutes before the guests arrived)..
consider the address thingie done, just give me a couple of days to arrange some things, and you have it (but, of course, i'm going to need your address too)
