blouse - self made
pants - thrifted
started working on this blouse a year ago
traced the pattern
cut the fabric
sewed the bow tie
(you maybe even saw the tie
in this post)
and then abandoned the whole thing
..
no special reason for that
happens all the time
my closet is full of ufo-s
(as in 'unfinished object'
not that i have a closet full of flying saucers)
..
but this february
debi made me remember the blouse
..
got this fabric from a friend
she was making a dress
i helped her cut the fabric for that dress
she let me take the leftovers home with me
..
so fabric was gifted to me
buttons were also a gift
it sounded like a good idea
to make this blouse my sew grateful project..
and on top of that
i got rid of one of the ufos
..

i love the birds sitting at waistband and flying on bodice! how fortuitous that the leftover fabric met your bow and band birds.
ReplyDeleteoh bow and band birds are the same leftovers.. it was strange fabric - made of large areas of navy with flying birds (maybe 1 m wide, or a bit more) and than the smaller ones in red, with birds on wire..
DeleteIt's an incredibly cute top & I looove the peplum. It's casual & non-costumey despite being in a contrasting fabric. I like lots of costumey things, but most days I want to wear less demanding pieces, so this blouse is inspirational to me. The cut is lovely and low-key, and just brilliant!
ReplyDeleteYou're incredibly cute too, and the blouse looks great on you.
Deletethank you very much, you're too kind :)
DeleteLove, love, love this blouse! So beautiful. The fabric is amazing, so lucky to get that. And the pattern is such a nice unusual one. Maybe I should start working on a few of my UFO's.....
ReplyDeletethanks.. and it feels so good to have less ufos.. i might get rid of another one of those little bastards today :)
DeleteOooh I love this blouse! It's so much fun! Love the joining of the birds (birds on a wire and bird's flying free?! It's like a skyscape blouse!!)
ReplyDeleteoh i love the birds too.. and now i have to make something to wear my new blouse with, it doesn't go well with anything :)
Deletelove how whimsical this is! so cute.
ReplyDeletethanks lisa :)
DeleteMeni je baš lijepo, vuče mi malo na 1920-e, Gatsbijevu eru .)
ReplyDeletehvala :) vidis, sad kad to pomenu i meni nekako lici.. nisam ni skapirala ranije
DeleteGorgeous fabric, it's pretty cool to get two prints on the one fabric! The colour combination is great - I love wearing bright colours and seeing them on other people always cheers me up too, especially on such a dark winter's night!
ReplyDeletethat's my way to battle all the winter grays :)
DeleteThe blouse is really cute! I love the color combo and the birds-very springy! Not that I'm getting much nice weather here, but I can dream!
ReplyDeletethat's me hoping to hurry up spring, with all the birds.. it's damn cold here too, can't wait for the warm weather to finally show up
DeleteKosuljica je bas slatka. Svidjaju mi se print i boje.
ReplyDeleteBas imas vjeste ruke!
:) hvala.. trudim se da ih vezbam i nesto stvorim njima svaki dan
