black wrap pants

pants - burda 11/2011, #105
top - hemlock tee

so, i finally managed to sew burda's wrap pants that fit me
..
for this pair i chose slightly stretchy fabric
of unknown composition
(i wish stores here can tell you a bit more
about the fabrics they sell..
well, not the kind of stores i go to, apparently)
it's super soft and drapey
making these the most comfy pair of pants i ever made
..
i loved sewing with mystery fabric
so went back to the fabric store, to get more of it
but it was all gone by the time i got there
..
not much to say about hemlock tee
other than i love it
and will make a dozen more
..

  4. I made these trousers a couple of years ago and I thought they were a disaster on me, but they look great on you!
I think it was my fabric - it frayed really badly and so ended up being a fraction too small to be comfortable and at the same time giving me a saggy backside. Having seen these I might dig them out and reassess, and try them with ankle boots....

    1. you should give them another go :) i've made a pair earlier, but they were too small on me, and pulled in all the wrong places (but looked great on my friend, that is a size or two smaller than i am, so i decided to give them another go).. i suggest you find drapey fabric, with a little bit of stretch

  5. These pants are so fun! I've been eying this style for a while but I can't figure out how to lower the rise with the wrap.

    1. super fun to wear, and even fun to make.. no idea about those modifications though, as i never have to modify anything with burda patterns (but i guess it would not be that hard to do)

  7. Love them, I want them! I just made a Burda pattern similar to this and they were ridiculously high waisted and ginormous all over. I might try this one next time instead.

    1. these do sit hight (but i'm kind of hight waisted myself, so they do fit at my actuall waist).. and, they are quite roomy too, but i like that, makes them super comfy.. if you try them, pay attention to the lower parts of the legs, they are quite tight around calfs
