dress - self made
heels - borrowed
to my brain
this print looked like what i imagine
cyborg would look like with skin removed
(as opposed to skinless human
when you get to see all the muscles and fat and stuff
and i'm yet to find a fabric with that kind of print)
..
dunno what the print is supposed to represent
and, frankly, don't care
to me - it's cyborg!
and i had to make myself a cyborg dress
..
and then i killed the whole cyborg vibe
with that autumnal photo shoot
and nature and colorful leaves and shit..
got seduced by autumn, in a way
(we actually may end up being besties, autumn and i)
..
in other news:
made my first ever french baguette
(well, i made four of them actually)
of those fancy artisan kind
when you spend two days working on it..
but it was worth every minute:
mokosha
Both your dress and french baguettes look delicious.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever plan on releasing a pattern of this dress, I would get it!
thanks.. and, you can totally get the pattern: it's matthew williamson's design, that burda released last year.. you can get it here
DeleteYes! Thank you!
Deleteoh sis. we must meet someday.
ReplyDeletegimlet in hand, i smiled when i saw you in my reader. your cylon skin is as appetizing as your baguette. autumn will be ever so flattered to be your friend!
:) we'll meet.. and we're gonna wear something fabulous then (and 'accessorize' it with more gimlets than it's legal)
Deletethat fabric is crazy awesome. great dress!
ReplyDeletethanks, lisa..
DeleteYour dress is beautiful is the fabric a knit???
ReplyDeletethanks, faye.. nope, it's some sort of printed denim, quite heavy cotton fabric, with some stretch to it.. not really the best choice for this dress, though.. but i love it anyways
DeleteLooks like satin!!!! You fitted it perfectly!!
DeleteWhere did you get the fabric?
thanks.. got fabric in my local fabric shop in belgrade, but never seen it there since.. it was just one large fabric remnant from remnants box
DeleteGde, sestro slatka? Mozda ima jos nekih zanimljivih

Super cool dress. And you are a great baker too! Girl of many talents :)
ReplyDelete:thanks, carolyn.. although, i still have a lot of new talents to learn, to keep up with you :)
DeleteNice dress! It's funny, last night I was thinking about remaking this pattern in something more structured than last time (I used very lightweight silk last time), i'll make sure not to got too structured!!
ReplyDeleteyou can totally make it in fabric as structured as this one is, the reason i'm not totally satisfied with how this one turned out is wrong bodice size: i cut my usual 38, but i should have go tor 36.. so, the bodice part ended up being a bit loose on me, and with this fabric it really shows.. but, you've made the dress from this pattern already, so i believe fit won't be an issue :)
