dress - self made
my favorite fabrics
are those from remnant boxes
and not only because of their low price
but because they often come in unusual prints
prints that happened by accident
..
fabric i used for this dress
was supposed to be beige
with rows of colorful flowers printed all over
(you can spot those flowers at the skirt hem)
but something went wrong
and these 1.5 meters of fabric
ended up almost without flowers
having this gray leaking pattern instead

Its gorgeous - like rain on a window. And the pattern is dope. Never seen anything like it - self drafted?
ReplyDeletethe pattern is the best, took me 45 mins to finish the dress.. really easy sewing, i really recomand this pattern, and you can get it here
DeleteLove the pattern! Adding it to my wishlist asap. The print is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteit really is a fabulous pattern, and sews insanely fast too..
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous fabric, mistake or not! I love the pattern, looks really comfortable to wear!
ReplyDeletethanks, mm.. yeah, it's really comfortable, and what i like the most is that the v neck is deep but so well 'secured' that you can actually play pool in the dress :)
DeleteOh I love your dress, and you have solved a mystery for me! I loved the small image in the front of the magazine, but it didn't seem to match the line drawing - I see now that you can tie the ties multiple ways! I have it traced out already, seeing yours makes me want to rush home and make it immediately!
ReplyDelete:) thanks.. oh, you can even tie the ties at the front, making a bow (if your fabric is less bulky than mine)..
DeleteLove iiiiit
ReplyDeletethanks, meli :)
DeleteWow! What a great dress! looks much more interesting than the original. This pattern is on my to do list.. Great fabric and I love your photos too..
ReplyDeletethank you :) i couldn't recomand this pattern more, it's really easy sewing, and the fit is great too
Deletelove this dress! that fabric is perfect.
ReplyDeletethanks, lisa..
DeleteBeautiful! You, the dress, and that magical forest you appear to be standing in x
ReplyDeletethanks reana.. oh, nature looks lovely in this time of the year, doesn't it?
DeleteI LOVE it. I want it. You look so stunning in it.
ReplyDeletethank you :) you should totally make this dress too, it would look divine on you
DeleteI can't believe there is any mistake; the fabric is lovely! and also you look really beautiful in this colour too.
ReplyDeletethanks, carolyn.. i like to think that original fabric was a mistake, and that this remnant is the only part of the bolt that was 'right'
DeleteTotally loving the fabric and it's 'mistake' (something tells me this 'mistake' fabric is SO much more interesting than whatever it was supposed to be...) And the dress is gorgeous - so flattering.
ReplyDeletethanks, sallie.. and i agree, fabric without 'mistake' really looked horrible
